Only electronic submissions are accepted.

 

The abstract must be in Microsoft Word (.doc) or in any form that can be opened in Microsoft Word.

 

Two copies of the abstract file must be sent as attached to your email: One copy should be anonymous (title and abstract only) and the other should contain the following information: title of abstract; author's name; author's affiliation and the abstract text itself.

 

The anonymous abstract should follow the following format: surname_initial_anony (e.g. Brown_J_anony.doc). The filename of named abstract should follow the following format: surname_initial_named (e.g. Brown_J_named.doc). The email message should read the subject line: "abstract submission" (without quotes). The body of the email message should contain the following information: the title of abstract; full name; affiliation; contact email address.

 

All abstracts are automatically considered for oral presentation. If you would prefer to present a poster instead, please indicate this in the email you will send.

 

Abstract Formatting Guideline

Your abstract should be no more 600 words and follow the format as follows:

Line spacing: 1,5

All margins: 2.5cm

Text alignment: justified

Title text: Times New Roman, 14pt, bold, centered (This includes name and affiliation on the named abstract file)

Body text: Times New Roman, 12pt

Paragraphs:  indented

 

Doctoral Student Workshops

PhD students working in the field of Linguistics and Language Teaching are invited to present a paper in English (15 minutes presentation + 15 minutes feedback).  The presenters should focus on theoretical or methodological problems they encounter in their thesis work. If your paper is accepted, you will be asked to send a more extensive summary of your thesis to the discussant(s) of your paper. Your submission should follow the abstract formatting guideline provided above.

 

Poster Formatting Guideline

The posters will be on display throughout the day including both coffee breaks and lunch and there will be a dedicated time when authors are expected to stand near their posters.

 

Each author will be assigned an A0 size (841 x 1189 mm) poster space (landscape).

 

Posters will be mounted using Blu-Tack, which will be provided.

The abstract title, authors and affiliations should be indicated in a heading at the top of your poster.

Lettering for the title line should be at least 2.5 cm high. Please use an appropriately-sized font throughout.

Power-point and Microsoft Publisher can also be used to produce clear posters. 

 

Abstract Review and Acceptance

 All abstracts conforming to the guidelines will be anonymously reviewed by two reviewers. Once the review process is complete, the author(s) will be notified by the organizing committee if the abstract has been accepted for oral, poster presentation, or for PhD Student Workshop.

 

Accepted abstracts will be allotted 30 minutes for presentation (please allow time for discussion. There will be a dedicated poster session on the day of the conference, but posters will be on display all day.

 

Speakers will also be invited to submit their paper (except PhD Student Workshops papers) for publication in the proceedings.
